The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) Muzaffarabad has established the Department of Electrical Engineering on semester system basis in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
It is my real pleasure to introduce you to the department. Our mission is to produce first rate electrical engineers for the current and long term future needs of Pakistan. The technology scenario is dynamic and we are preparing our graduates to handle rapid changes in the state of technology. Training into self-learning and ability to think are the two fundamental requirements for our graduates.
The field of electrical engineering was built on the shoulders of giants — Tesla, Edison, Marconi, Bell, to name a few — to meet the energy and telecommunication needs of humanity. Out of our advancements in electronics and photonics technology, electrical engineering is keeping the promise. Nowadays, most everything we use in our daily lives has a power source and a chip and implements some sophisticated communication protocol and data/signal processing algorithm.
Our faculty and students every day define new directions for electrical engineering and strive to develop new technologies to help address critical societal challenges. Our major areas of research include: Electronics, Telecommunication and Power Systems. Students may specialize in these areas, whether it is in the form of basic or advanced-level undergraduate courses, graduate courses, or research in the lab.
The EECS department offers PEC accredited undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering. At the graduate level, we offer M.S. degree programs in electrical engineering with specializations in Electronics, Telecommunication and Power. Our undergraduate and graduate curricula are constantly refined to meet real-world demands and rapid changes in technology to provide students with the skills to address 21st century challenges.
I invite you to explore our site and learn about our innovative research, competitive academic programs, supportive learning environment, modern facilities, and global impact.
I hope you will explore our teaching and research programs and reach out to us with any questions. We are always interested in new opportunities for collaboration.
Transformation to excellence through holistic education.
The University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir is committed to quality education, research values-driven mentorship through innovations to serve the society and the changing world.
The Department of Electrical Engineering of UAJK, Muzaffarabad, is committed to innovation and excellence in teaching, research and service to mankind.
The Department is committed to equip the students with a strong theoretical foundation, practical engineering skills, experience in interpersonal communication and teamwork. Ethics, professional conduct and critical thinking are special emphasis areas.
The program educational objectives for the Electrical Engineering program describe accomplishments that graduates are expected to attain within four years. Graduates will have applied their expertise to contemporary problem solving, be engaged professionally, continued to learn and adapt and have contributed to their organizations through leadership and teamwork. More specifically, the objectives are expertise, engagement and leadership.
To demonstrate peer-recognized expertise together with the ability to articulate that expertise and use it for contemporary problem solving in the analysis and design in the field of Electrical Engineering.
To demonstrate engagement in the engineering profession, locally and globally, by contributing to the ethical, competent, and creative practice of engineering through graduate work, professional development, and self-study.
To demonstrate leadership and initiative to ethically advance professional and organizational goals, facilitate the achievements of others, and obtain substantive results.
